Security Shields
SelectConnect LDS Tamper Proof Security Shield on interior of enclosure
How secure is your sensitive data?
Fact is your data is more vulnerable today than at any other time in history. And it’s only going to get worse.
Data thieves have found creative ways to get sensitive data from:
- Secure Handheld Devices
- Thumb Drives
- ATM PIN entry units
- Point of Sale devices
- And just about any secure device
What steps are you taking to protect your data from physical intrusion?
The first step should be a custom tamper proof security shield from SelectConnect Technologies. As part of an overall protection strategy a Laser Direct Structured (LDS) security shield adds essential protection against physical intrusion protecting circuits, electronic components, displays and data input/output hardware connections.
A physical barrier package created by Laser Direct Structuring (LDS) is an important component in an active package protection strategy that is easy to adopt and works in conjunction with software solutions for volume tamper protection.
LDS protection components achieve a high level of physical security where space is often limited. As part of an active protection scenario, an LDS security shield detects physical intrusions by sensing attempts to open, remove or penetrate the component with drills, probes or chemical attack.
LDS takes your barrier design and adds complex circuitry on the inside of the case that is almost impossible to breach without detection. And since your design is unique, there aren’t components readily available for data thieves to deconstruct and find ways to access your data.
Contact SelectConnect Technologies today if you need to protect sensitive electronics or information in ATM, bank, defense, aerospace, medical or next generation electronics.
Getting Started

SelectConnect engineers provide best practices and guidelines to help you design a secure pattern to fit your form factor and application.
SelectConnect can recommend an injection molder or you may use your own, following a few simple tooling guidelines.
The pattern is drawn as a layer in the solid model of the housing and is saved as a .STP file. The .STP file is translated by our SelectConnect engineers into laser coordinates and marked on to the parts. Parts are then metallized using our SelectConnectTM process. Plating only adheres to the areas marked by the laser, forming the circuit. Contact Us today to discuss your application.
